What this game is

Memory Match is the classic concentration card game with a math twist. Instead of matching identical pictures, you match each number with a multiplication fact that produces it — 42 with 6×7, 36 with 4×9, and so on. You have to remember where both halves of every pair are hiding, which trains spatial memory and mental multiplication at the same time.

A move is any two cards flipped together. The fewer moves it takes to clear the board, the better — and your best score for each board size is saved on your own device.

How to play

  1. Choose a board: 6 pairs (24 cards is plenty for a quick round) or 8 pairs (16 cards).
  2. Flip two cards per move. If one is a number and the other is an expression that produces it, the pair stays open and turns green.
  3. If they don't match, both cards flip back face-down after a moment — memorize what you saw.
  4. Clear the board in as few moves as possible.

Scoring

Moves = every two-card flip Pairs = number + matching multiplication fact Best = fewest moves per board size, saved on your device

A perfect 8-pair game needs at least 8 moves — you would have to remember everything on the first pass. Good players clear the board in 12–16 moves.

Frequently asked questions

Are the multiplication facts always different?

Yes. Every pair uses a distinct product with its own factor pair, so no two cards on the board look the same.

Where is my best score kept?
